There are now only eight days left until the transfer window closes and the AC Milan management are determined to sign a midfielder.
According to MilanNews, Jean Onana of Bordeaux is currently the leading candidate to come in and replace Franck Kessie who left at the end of last season for Barcelona.
The number of names that have been linked has been countless, from Renato Sanches and Jordan Veretout to Davide Frattesi and Raphael Onyedika, but at the moment Onana is currently the number one target.
The Rossoneri have offered the French club €5m plus a percentage on the future resale to sign Onana outright, however the summer so far has taught them not to be without a back-up plan.
If the move for Onana fails then they will turn to Aster Vranckx of Wolfsburg, with the 19-year-old Belgian also attracting the interest of Bologna.
This news is backed up by Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan), who report that Onana is still Plan A but Vranckx’s profile teases the Rossoneri management because of his characteristics, his potential and the fact Wolfsburg are willing to let him go.
