AC Milan and Roma are in direct competition for the signing of Otavio from Porto, according to a report from Spain.
Through our correspondent Pietro Balzano Prota, we also revealed how Milan are monitoring Otavio – who has 17 goals and 45 assists in 166 games for Porto – ahead of the summer window as a potential free transfer opportunities.
Spanish outlet TF report how Milan and Roma share a target for the summer window as both clubs want Otavio on a free transfer. His contract expires in June and he does not plan to renew, so it would be a zero-cost signing.
Porto are standing firm on not letting him leave midway through the season but an offer of €12m could make them change their mind. Milan started with an advantage, but the emergence of Roma is complicating things, the report adds.
Meanwhile, Tuttosport (via MilanLive) report that the playmaker does not want to renew with Porto and Milan are following him very closely, especially given their difficulties in retaining Brahim Diaz and a renewal that is slow in coming with Hakan Calhanoglu.
