Reports: Milan will meet Porto tonight as Taremi continues to push for move

By Oliver Fisher -

A number of different sources are reporting that AC Milan will meet Porto this evening to try and get a deal for Mehdi Taremi done before the window closes.

According to the Porto-based source MercadoAzul, Taremi is one of the names that can still leave the Portuguese club before the close of the summer transfer window because he is now in the last year of his contract.

The player owns 15% of his own rights and is looking for a new direction in his career. As the newspaper O Jogo and the Italian journalist Di Marzio reported, Milan have not formulated any offer just yet.

However, the report adds that Porto are braced for a bid of over €15m which is still quite far from the €30m asking price, though further talks are expected.

Mercado Azul knows that the parties have agreed to speak again after Monday’s game against Rio Ave, and the idea of an exit for Taremi is starting to gain momentum.

The striker is very much open to the idea of starting a new challenge in Milan and personal terms will not be an issue.

Meanwhile, Sacha Tavolieri is reporting that Rossoneri officials will be in touch after Porto play tonight with Taremi ‘still pushing hard’ to join Milan. The clubs are in contact directly to conclude the operation, but the green light from Porto is still needed.
