Repubblica: Maldini will discuss transfer budget in meeting with RedBird owner

RedBird Capital, the US-based investment firm are one step away from securing the takeover of AC Milan. In fact, a meeting between Gerry Cardinale and Paolo Maldini has been scheduled, a report claims.

Following the Scudetto success, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara want to reinforce the team this summer to take an even further leap quality-wise. However, it hinges on the project of the new owners RedBird Capital.

According to La Repubblica (via MilanNews), a meeting between Cardinale and Maldini has been scheduled, during which the plan for the future will be discussed. The director will, above all, talk about the budget for the transfer window to understand if a few investments can be made.

Next week, Cardinale will sign the preliminary contract and unless anything spectacular happens, RedBird will be the new owners of Milan. Elliott Management will keep a minority stake in the club, it should be noted.
