Repubblica: Milan eye Lyon star on a free as playmaker will return to Real Madrid

AC Milan have recently been linked with a move for Houssem Aouar and the links have been confirmed by various sources. This morning, the matter was fueled even more as the Rossoneri have a plan in mind.

Last summer, that is in 2021, Milan managed to keep Brahim Diaz on a two-year loan with an option to buy valued at €22m. There is also a €27m buy-back clause in favour of Real Madrid, but it doesn’t look like the latter clause will matter.

According to La Repubblica, as cited by SempreMilan.it, Milan have more or less decided to part ways with Brahim Diaz at the end of the contract. To replace him, they have set their sights on Aouar on a free transfer.

Given that he would arrive for free, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara see him as the perfect alternative to Charles De Ketelaere. Aouar can also play on the wings if needed and Milan appreciate this versatility.
