Repubblica: PSG outcast is Milan’s No.1 defensive target – the formula in mind

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan remain interested in the idea of signing Paris Saint-Germain defender Abdou Diallo in the summer window, according to a report.

According to La Repubblica (via PianetaMilan), the Rossoneri have not given up on their hopes of signing Diallo from the French champions and they even have a formula in mind: they want the Senegal international on an initial loan with option to buy.

Diallo is the player that has been chosen by the Rossoneri management to replace Alessio Romagnoli, who moved on a free transfer to Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio. Given that the former Dortmund man only had 16 appearances in all competitions last season, it does not seem as though he is central to their plans.

In addition, Diallo wants to leave the club and there is the added sub-plot that Milan Škriniar could sign from Inter to further reduce his prospects of playing time. The costs of the operation must be assessed to see if he is a viable target for Milan.
