Resto del Carlino: Milan among Zirkzee admirers as Bologna eye replacement

By Oliver Fisher -

Bologna seem to be gearing up for the potential sale of Joshua Zirkzee with a replacement lined up, and AC Milan are among the teams who want to pounce.

If you read our site regularly this should not be a surprise given our exclusive a couple of months ago, which stated that Milan are scouting Zirkzee. The Dutchman seems a fit for project at 22 years of age, with Serie A experience, the potential to grow and a reasonable salary.

According to what is being reported by Il Resto del Carlino (via TuttoBologna), Bologna are looking for a striker who could be a good assistant to Zirkzee for the rest of the season, but they also know that they will be bombarded with requests and offers in the summer.

Milan, Manchester United, Newcastle, Juventus and Napoli are all very keen on signing the 22-year-old, who has nine goal contributions (7G, 2A) in Serie A this season and could generate a huge fee.

Precisely for these reasons the Rossoblù have not the slightest intention of letting the Santiago Castro deal slip out of their hands. The 19-year-old from Velez Sarsfield is a target, and they would sell him for €5-6m plus bonuses.

  1. Why we not take this Santiago Castro ? After one season Bologna will ask 30 milion + for this player. We have to be smart and act before other clubs and do not buy hyped
    and over inflated players

  2. If we want to be powerful, strong and have competition with strong team we need him and quality players like him. (Not lazy like a Leao)
