AC Milan are close to being bought by the Bahrain-based fund Investcorp as talks are ongoing over the purchase, a report claims.

L’Equipe (via TMW) reported this morning that Milan are in talks with the Middle Eastern investment fund Investcorp, who were founded in 1982 and as of 2019, Wikipedia writes that they have over $37bn in assets under management.

According to what is being reported by Reuters, Investcorp are in exclusive talks to purchase Milan as per a source close to the deal. The source said the deal to buy the Serie A club is ‘close to being completed’.

Founded in 1982, Investcorp has offices in New York, London, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Doha, Mumbai and Singapore. Their main activities include corporate investment, real estate and credit management.

American fund Elliott Management Corporation took over Milan back in 2018 after Yonghong Li’s chaotic tenure, and it has always been speculated that their idea is to improve the accounts and sell.
