The new stadium project is crucial in AC Milan and Inter’s bid to re-establish themselves among Europe’s elite, as the numbers demonstrate.

What is missing to further close the gap with the ‘elite’ sides in Europe is to get a better TV rights deal but also to move into a new era with the construction of a state of the art home for both clubs.
The revenue of the two clubs reached record levels of €439m for Inter and €297m for Milan – an increase in revenues of over €100m for the Rossoneri and about €90m for Inter. However, the clubs know there is room to grow more and they have been working for some time on a restyling of the brand both in terms of iconography (e.g. the new Inter logo) and in terms of image through partnerships.
In addition to the much-debated TV rights issue, the stadium question must be solved. At San Siro the revenues are currently capped below €40m for both sides because of various limitations such as the rent owed to the Council.
With a new stadium, both clubs aim to raise revenues to no less than €100m, which is €70m more than today and can make a huge difference in the budget and for the club’s future projects. More money received is more money to invest.
