Watch: Ricci impresses in Milan debut against Arsenal – his key moments

Yesterday, Samuele Ricci made his debut for AC Milan and many were left feeling impressed by the midfielder’s performance.

Whilst Milan were on the wrong side of the result yesterday, there was a lot to take away from the performance, including several individal games. Of course, one of those was Ricci, who made his first appearance for his new club.

Ricci’s first Milan game

Having played in Serie A before, there is no new factor to Ricci. In fact, most will already know what the Italian provides. However, the big intrigue was how he would fit into the midfield, and what Massimiliano Allegri would task him with.

It seems, from the game against Arsenal, that he plans to use Ricci as a sort of metronome in midfield, to keep things ticking. So, his first game was very much a success, as can be seen below, courtesy of @MilanRayy_ on X.

    1. I agree with u completely….. he is the right fit and if modric is fit I think we do have a decent midfield….. The only thing that makes me sad as a Milan and football fan was not seeing the midfield 3 of Reijnders/ Rici / Modric

    1. haha yeah. I did not see anything special from him, but at the same time is his first game. Tonali stole money one season, and we know what happened then

      1. it’s a different type of player imo, that we have been missing the past few seasons. We are not getting a direct replacement for Reijnders, he just has different skills set and we won’t be seeing too many goals and assists but he will be a reference point in midfield in starting attacks and helping the defence. I’m old enough to remember when Perez thought that makallele didn’t do anything special and sold him to Chelsea. Real Madrid didn’t recover for years since it lost its balance and composure in midfield😀 I do write a lot of c**p about our management but Ricci signing is one of the few good things that might turn out good for us

  1. This is no criticism of the player in any way whatsoever but if what I watched is what he was bought to do, then I can boldly say that even Pobega can fulfill that role. It’s just one game so let’s see if there’ll be forward passes in games to come.

  2. Then we have Musah who is still chaotic and a complete mess in the midfield after all the time he has spent at the club.

  3. We finally got a player who actually know how to pass and when to pass unlike those NFL bullies. Musah with his antics almost cost us another goal. They need to get rid of these headless running backs.

  4. I like a three man midfield of

    ——–Modric————–Fofana———-
    ———————-Ricci———————–

  5. woohhooo… Bravo those banner by fellow IndoMilanista 🙂
i hope Idzes will develop to be better player then someday Milan sign him

  6. I’m sorry, what part of this is suppose to be impressive? The bar is so low for Italian players here. He’s getting the Tonali treatment already.

  7. Nothing out of the ordinary, but he is a good player. For club and country, he will be a star at Milan. Still can’t understand what was so special about his performances in this game.

  8. I think comotto actually played better in that game. He was dropping to receive the ball, and lively when defending.
