AC Milan held new discussions on Wednesday morning over a potential deal for Samuele Ricci, according to a report.
The situation regarding Ricci and a potential move to Milan has been strange. For weeks it seemed that the operation had been all set up and would be pushed through when the window reopened, especially after the sale of Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City.

However, some doubts seem to have crept in, with the Rossoneri management also having made bids for Granit Xhaka of Bayer Leverkusen and Ardon Jashari of Club Brugge. In other words, not all of their eggs are in one basket.
Ricci update arrives
Matteo Moretto has posted an update on X, stating: “Milan had new contacts this morning as well for Samuele Ricci. The deal is practically already set up. The Torino midfielder remains a hot name for the Rossoneri midfield.”
Fabrizio Romano adds: “AC Milan had new contacts with all parties involved in Samuele Ricci deal in the recent hours. Negotiations are underway with Granit Xhaka and Ardon Jashari… meanwhile, AC Milan maintain contacts active also for Samuele Ricci deal, advanced since December.
In a follow-up, he adds: “Understand AC Milan have sent proposal worth €22m plus €3m add-ons for Samuele Ricci as they’re closing in on the deal. After positive talks this morning, AC Milan and Torino are advancing to final stages. Terms discussed since December, deal now very close.”
It remains to be seen if these talks were to potentially close the operation with the Granata or if it was merely to touch base. With Ricci, Xhaka and Jashari all open negotiations, it feels logical to suggest that Milan will take the best two, in terms of being advantageous operations.
Ricci played 32 Serie A games last season for Torino, scoring one goal and adding two assists. He can play both as a regista (deep-lying playmaker) or as a box-to-box mezzala.

Adli is 24. Two years from now he’d be 26. How much more time does he need to develop to be good enough? Because he hasn’t been able to nail down a first team stop over three seasons and even Fiorentina wasn’t interested in retaining him.
Practically Milan put everything in Modric in midfield together with Ruben Loftus and Fofana, and for Reijnders money they want youngster to create player like Reijnders or Tonali in future.

Can’t imagine we’d go for both Ricci and Jashari, maybe the bids are to see which seller blinks first.
We’re going to really struggle to move some of the players we don’t have room for in the squad, the likes of Bennacer, Adli, Pobega, Bondo, Musah, RLC, Terracciano… if we bring in 3 new ones surely we only have room for a maximum of three of these six?
Heck, Zinchenko’s best position is arguably DM.

Adli – I think Fiorentina would take Adli, but not for the €10 million or so we want. He’s too slow.
Bennacer will struggle to find a club.
Bonda – His stock is still high. He should stay.
Musah – The biggest dud. Any offer should be accepted. He’s garbage.
Pobega – A Serie B level player. One of the promoted teams might take him.
RLC – Unless Sunderland or Leeds come in for him, I don’t think we’ll get a buyer.
Terracciano – Always makes mistakes. One of the promoted teams might take him.
Musah definitely has value and a lot of potential, but I don’t think he’ll realise it here – same issue Salaemaekers had – he needs to go somewhere he can nail down a position and start consistently. We moved him around all over.
Pobega clearly has some value, he’s been a starter at decent clubs when he’s been out on loan. I think there’s a possibility of a sale there.
Adli I’m not sure about – is there a market for him? Or does it make more sense for him to be our sixth midfielder for a 3 man midfield?
Terracciano can only go on loan, he’s shown nothing with us so far, I keep forgetting he’s on our books. Needs a year as a starter somewhere.
RLC and Bondo I expect to stay – Bondo I’ve hardly seen, RLC is a good Allegri player and the sort he’s made good on before. We’ve seen good talent, just inconsistency and injuries.
Bennacer will only leave on loan – makes sense to be at Marseille – they will need the extra depth for UCL – but I don’t see them taking the risk to buy him. If he stays, he can be a good impact sub, but I assume that’s the role we’re planning Modric to play.
Adli slow? Well… I’d take slow Adli over fast & dumb Musah any day. Pace isn’t everything.

Terraciano – Dry Loan. So he can play. Milan grabbed him from Verona for a reason. And he is Italian!
Musah – Dry Loan. So he can play one position, and play every match. He is so young and physical.
Bennacer – Loan with requirement to buy, back to France
Pobega – Loan with requirement to buy, back to Bologna
It’s probably not Ricci and Jashari. More likely Ricci and Guerra, if not only Ricci or Guerra or Jashari. I hope I’m wrong and it is Ricci and Jashari, or at least Ricci and Guerra.
As to departures, it all depends on how much we want in the end. Musah is almost sold, and if we weren’t so greedy for one or two million more he might have already been out the door. RLC and Bondo are probably staying. Pobega is 50/50, but there seems to be a market for him in the 8-10M range. I think Adli would probably have a market in the same range, while Bennacer will be in the 10-12 range. Terracciano can stay as a backup RB or go on loan. In the end it really all depends on how much we want for each player. If we’re asking for too much, then yeah they’re not going to move.

Ricci at 22+3 is a lot better than at 30-35mil.
Fofana/Ricci/Xhaka sounds very balanced.
I would have preferred Javi Guerra instead of Ricci.
acmilan is just a scrab ricci or jashari is going to be the next tonali or randers in one or two season they will be sold to another club in case may be milan did not qualify for champions league or europe competition.

Players like him should be the core of AC Milan, just like in the past: Nesta, Maldini, Gattuso, Inzaghi etc, instead of bringing random players from all around the world.
Selling tiji and use that money to bring 2 midfield like ricci & jashari. Now xhaka look like just plan B if jashari not coming. Thats make midfield overload. In my opinion 6 or 7 midfield enough if ACM play 433 or 352. Stay : RLC, bondo, fofana, pobega ( for home grown). In : modric, ricci, jashari or xhaka. Out : adili, yunusmusah, bennacer. YM maybe still get buyer but the other two adili & bennacer dont have buyer
