CM: Romagnoli now almost certain to sign €16m deal and join Lazio – the details

By Oliver Fisher -

Alessio Romagnoli is getting closer and closer to joining Lazio on a free transfer ahead of next season, according to a report.

According to Calciomercato.com, Romagnoli is enthusiastic about the idea of joining the club he has supported since he was just a child and the possibility is becoming more and more concrete as Lazio chiefs Claudio Lotito and Igli Tare have been working for several weeks with his agent Mino Raiola to try and strike a deal.

The Biancoceleste’s offer to Romagnoli is €3.2m net per season plus bonuses for a five-year contract – which is therefore a total commitment of €16m net – and the Milan captain is ready to say yes.

Some details remain to be sorted relating to the commissions that Lazio will have to pay to Raiola, but things are proceeding at a fast pace towards closing. Milan’s most recent offer was at €2.8m per year and they have not raised it, instead understanding that they will say goodbye to Romagnoli in July after seven years of service.

    1. 3,2m euro for fifth choice CB below kalulu and Kjaer? Botman and Tomori Will be starter. Romagnoli guaranteed starter in Lazio and that Will raise his chance go to world cup in Qatar while if he stay at AC Milan he will slower kalulu growth

    2. Based on nothing but opinion, I suspect the sticking point is not the salary but the agent commission Raiola is demanding from Milan.

    3. Keep romangoli? Clearly you haven’t been watching our games the past two seasons?

He should go please. Much respect to his professionalism and leadership. I know he will not want to accept his position on the bench, so let him to lazio and play regular football

    1. It’s not though – Romagnoli simply isn’t good enough to play at this level anymore. He’s too slow and is poor at positioning and marking. He had his moment, but failed to develop. Nearly every centre back that came to Milan lately turned out to be better than him – first Kjaer, than Tomori, and finally Kalulu, and none of them was suspected to be superior to Romagnoli when they first came here.
I’m glad that he’s leaving, as he has an obscene wage and is Raiola’s man. I hope that he’ll be leaving as a champion though, he deserves this for all these years of commitment.

  2. Bye Romagnoli. Hope you did well in Lazio.

Different than Dollaruma, Snake Kebab, and Cashie, i still put enough respect for Romagnoli. The guy never say bad things about Milan nor he makes any drama.
