Pedulla: Concerns arise over Romagnoli-Lazio talks with Juventus lurking

By Oliver Fisher -

Lazio must raise their bid to Alessio Romagnoli or they risk missing out altogether on signing the AC Milan captain, a report claims.

Alfredo Pedulla confirms that Lazio are trying to sign Romagnoli but a couple of days have passed in silence since the meeting on Friday. Their president Claudio Lotito started with an offer of around €2.5m net per season, then raised to €2.5m plus bonuses to reach €3m, but that is not enough.

The request is a fixed base close to €3.5m plus bonuses and while Romagnoli has expressed his willingnness to join his boyhood club, it must turn into a concrete offer he is happy to sign. The next few days are crucial because if the talks stall then there is a risk of the operation failing, but no new meetings are planned.

Lotito has the cards in his hand, but he must use them well and quickly because Juventus are lurking. Lazio run the risk that someone will arrive first despite having leverage in the negotiations.
