Romagnoli praises Tomori as he reflects on Crotone win: “Today we had to win and we did”

AC Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli insisted the team are just thinking ‘game by game’ and heaped praise on centre-back partner Fikayo Tomori.

The Rossoneri knew that they had to respond in the right way after Inter won on Friday and Juventus beat Roma last night, and they did just that by beating struggling Crotone 4-0 at San Siro this afternoon.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored his sixth brace of the season by netting either side of the break, and Ante Rebic bagged twice in 69 seconds to ensure there would be no Sunday scare for Stefano Pioli’s side.

Of course, the clean sheet was also a very pleasant note too and Romagnoli contributed to that as well as Fikayo Tomori, who made his second start for the club and first at San Siro.

Romagnoli was interviewed by Sky Italia at the end of the game and reflected on a big three points, with his comments transcribed by MilanNews and translated below.

On a good response to Inter: “We think game by game. Today we had to win and we did. In the first half we were too slow, much better in the second half.”

On Scudetto belief: “We think of the Champions League as a goal, then we will see at the beginning of April.”

On the hectic schedule: “We’ve been playing every three days for many months, it’s good. We have another difficult match in Spezia and we have to think about that.”

On Tomori: “Yes, he’s a good player. He’s good, he’s aggressive.”
