Romano: Defender expected to leave Spurs – Milan have him ‘high on their list’

By Oliver Fisher -

Emerson Royal could leave Tottenham in the summer transfer window, it has been confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, and AC Milan have him on their list of targets.

While the purchase of a right-back might not feel like it is among the priorities heading into the summer because of the other positions that need to be addressed, Geoffrey Moncada and his team often move in surprising ways. We recently reported the interest in Tiago Santos, for example.

Milan have an abundance of options in the role currently but it seems that none of them – barring perhaps Davide Calabria who is the captain – offer the management the guarantees that they are looking for.

Alessandro Florenzi is towards the end of his career and has just one year left on his deal, Pierre Kalulu has been used more as a centre-back and Filippo Terracciano has barely been used at all since his arrival from Hellas Verona in January.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Milan will sign a new right-back in the summer and Emerson Royal is ‘high on their list’. The Brazilian is one of many players expected to leave Spurs before next season, given he is not a key man under Ange Postecoglou.

The 25-year-old has made 100 appearances for Spurs and was more of a starter under Antonio Conte. He also has 10 Brazil caps to his name too, and is under contract until June 2026.

  1. Idk who thought a spurs reject would be a good idea but they should give their resignation to the club.

What they bought Terracciano for anyway?

    1. Here we go again. Probably one of the people that said the same thing about the “Chelsea rejects” Pulisic, Tomori, RLC and Giroud that have all done well for Milan.

      1. Nah. Only ruben.. i wasn’t pro ruben, still aren’t. Thing is, if you really wanna do this, Emerson has been average everywhere he has been. Why would that change now?

And don’t we have enough average rbs anyway, since people whine about Calabria everyday?

      2. Chelsea rejects are because of getting crowded out by spending on the next big thing.

Spurs rejects are just that. Crap.

I will say my bias though. I ducking hate Tottenham. They are trash…except for today. I am the biggest Spurs fan today only.

    2. Chelsea rejects worked out, didn’t they? i’m not for Emerson coming, but the sad reality is that “rejects” from England tend to do well in Italy, because that’s just how great our league is…

      1. Blowing 20-30M on a rb atm is not a priority, it’s an idiotic move.

All Chelsea rejects have been good at some point in their career. Emerson? Never
