Romano: Liverpool not in talks over Milan-linked Lille star; ‘work in progress’ over deal with Toulouse

By Oliver Fisher -

The wheels are in motion for AC Milan as ‘work in progress’ is underway to sign Kouadio Kone from Toulouse, according to Fabrizio Romano.

With the transfer window set to open on Monday, the vast majority of sources are reporting that Milan’s targets for the market are now clear: to sign a defender and a midfielder.

There are now a number of sources claiming that the midfielder could also arrive from France, more precisely from Toulouse where teenager Kouadio Koné continues to dazzle.

According to Fabrizio Romano on Twitter – who was asked for Kone update by a fan – the situation is a ‘work in progress’ for the Rossoneri.

In the original tweet, he states that Liverpool have not opened official talks with Lille to sign centre-back Sven Botman either. The Dutch centre-back has been scouted and he’s considered a true talent, but there is nothing advanced at the moment, with a decision to be made by the Anfield club.

PianetaMilan reported earlier today that Milan scouts have indeed put Botman’s name down in their notebook as the 20-year-old has stood out in the Europa League, particularly in the two games against Milan, with a €30m asking price set by Lille and with Liverpool keen.
