Romano: Midfielder due in Italy tonight ahead of €12m move to Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are closing in on making their long awaited midfield signing as Aster Vranckx is due in Italy tonight, according to a report.

Since Franck Kessie left on a free transfer for Barcelona, the focus for the Rossoneri management has been on replacing him with another midfielder. The likes of Renato Sanches, Raphael Onyedika and Jean Onana have all been linked, but it seems the addition will come from Germany.

According to the latest from Fabrizio Romano, Milan are now set to sign Aster Vranckx on loan with buy option from VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga.

It will be an initial loan deal with a €12m option to buy clause included in the deal. Romano adds that Vranckx will arrive in Milano later today in order to undergo medical tests and sign his contract with the club.

If everything goes smoothly, he could well be available for Saturday’s derby match against Inter at San Siro.
