AC Milan are not preparing to make a move for Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson this month despite reports linking the Rossoneri with the English striker.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the Diavolo are not going to try and sign Wilson because they are content with the options they currently have for the rest of the season.
Olivier Giroud is the primary striker, with Luka Jovic chipping in with a healthy number of goals when he is given minutes by Stefano Pioli. Noah Okafor is now also back from injury and scored in the win against Udinese, so he can be of use in attack for the rest of the season.
It also seems that Atletico Madrid will not be trying to take Wilson away from Newcastle, as they are more interested in Moise Kean from Juventus.
Wilson has only got 18 months remaining on his Newcastle contract which means that he is listening to proposals for permanent moves, but Milan would certainly only be offering a loan deal if a move were to happen this month.
Given he is 31 years old, signing a player like Wilson on a permanent deal would not be in line with Milan’s recent transfer strategy of signing young players who have scope for improvement.
Certainly a deadly striker, if we are going for the guy the deal should be done with a reasonable price tag, Callum may be a brilliant striker but he is injury prone.
Would be great if we need a replacement in summer for either Jovic or Giroud. Injuries should be a worry, but a potentially excellent player nonetheless.
Too many injuries and it won’t get any better from here out. He’s 31.
Taremi 2.0? I read that he might got to Athletico. Although FabRom is saying Athletico are going for Kean…
Do we even need a forward at this point? Giroud, Jovic, Oka4 all contributing…
