Romano: Milan open talks over Chelsea winger and put Loftus-Cheek pursuit on hold

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are interesting in signing Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic this summer but have put talks for Ruben Loftus-Cheek on hold, a report claims.

According to what is being reported by Fabrizio Romano, Pulisic is expected to leave this summer as Chelsea are open to letting him go given their need to offload players after a spending spree that yielded a mid-table finish.

Milan are among clubs interested in Pulisic, and he was mentioned in recent talks held with Chelsea as per the Sky journalist.

Pulisic plays predominantly on the right wing but he had a disappointing season in 2022-23, making just 30 total appearances for 1,013 minutes, amassing one goal and two assists.

That in itself is perhaps a sign that he is not considered a key component at Stamford Bridge and that he is on his way towards the exit door this summer.

Meanwhile, he adds that talks over midfielder Ruben Loftus Cheek are on stand-by after Paolo Maldini’s sacking.

  1. From a player who failed to establish himself in a team that finish outside top 10 at EPL to another player who failed to establish himself in a team that finish outside top 10 at EPL. So what changes?

  2. “Loftus-Cheek on hold”… four of the greatest words in the English language. Let’s follow up with “El Shawaary pursuit canceled” and “Zaniolo to Juventus.” Although I’m tbh I’m not jacked about Pulisic either.

    1. There is a genuine consideration there that you’ll get more people ‘following’ Pulisic than RLC. Whilst RLC would be easier to sell back to England, the upside of Pulisic as a marketing win if it were to work out well would be huge.

        1. Far less popular than the American poster child that is known as ‘captain America’ of the national team.

If anyone’s wondering, he has an EU national passport too.

          1. The poster child that was bullied when he asked fans why they do not come to the stadium to support the national team.

  3. We also need fair play regulations, Pulisic is good but better bring Berardi. An Italian. Pulisic’s talent is even fading due to being benched by Chelsea.

  4. Pulisic is talented and has shown to be good but two huge IFs for me
    1. Can he stay healthy?
    2. Can he lower his salary demands (by a lot)
If so, come on in.. but i doubt it.

  5. With Chelsea’s leadership loss with every player leaving, I think they are more likely to be relegated than finish in the top four.
