AC Milan are yet to receive an offer from Orlando City for Santiago Gimenez despite reports to the contrary, Fabrizio Romano claims.

Among the many issues for Ruben Amorim and the ‘new’ Milan management to tackle this summer is what to do with Gimenez. He was the big investment of the 2025 winter window but had a very tough last season, failing to score a single goal in Serie A having spent time out injured.

He has lost his starting spot for Mexico who are one of the World Cup hosts, and naturally the big changes have led to exit talk. For example, Daniele Longo spoke of Orlando City preparing an offer worth a total of €30m to sign the former Feyenoord man.

Romano: No Gimenez bid yet

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano gave an update on the reports regarding MLS interest in Gimenez, with his words relayed by MilanNews.

“There has been a lot of talk in the last few hours about a possible future for Santiago Gimenez at Orlando City, which has a very ambitious sporting director like Ricardo Moreira, who personally worked on the Griezmann operation, traveling to Madrid several times to get him,” he said.

“From what I understand, however, I can say that, despite the many rumours, no offer has arrived from Orlando City for Gimenez.

“Therefore, to date it does not appear that the American club has put 30 million euros on the table. At the moment no offer has arrived to Milan or to Gimenez from the Orlando team.

“We’ll see if something happens given that Moreira is a very ambitious sporting director who aims to sign important players, but to date there is no evidence of an offer from Orlando City for Gimenez, who could still be a player leaving Milan.”
