Mediaset: Ronaldo’s arrival could see winger leave Chelsea – Milan keen but there is an obstacle

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan retain an interest in signing Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea as the January window approaches but there is a familiar obstacle that must first be overcome, a report claims.

Claudio Raimondi spoke on SportMediaset (via MilanNews) to confirm Milan’s interest in signing Ziyech is still present and the player himself is open to a possible exit as he seemed to admit after Morocco’s opening World Cup game.

The eventual arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo at Chelsea could further favour the Moroccan’s departure to Milan on loan but there is the same problem as has arisen before regarding the salary that he earns.

Ziyech is due €3m net for the next six months (he is on €6m per year at Chelsea) but if an option to buy were inserted into the deal then things would have to be reformulated because the player currently earns a salary deemed too much high due to the internal salary limits imposed by the management.

  1. It seems like every player that is worth having in a team has too high salary demands for AC Milan! LOL 🙂 It is quite frustrating to be ACM fan these days/years because even when we have an excellent player (like Leao) we cannot keep him in the club. In fact, we cannot keep the average players too (Kessie, Chalhanoglu, Paqueta etc.)

This might become our motto: ‘We want the best players to play for us, but we want to pay them very little, in fact at least 50% of their market value’.

    1. Paqueta didn’t show any signs of worth keeping him in the squad though. And Calhanoglu was a d*ck already in Milan and we won the scudetto thanks to him leaving so… Thank you very much. 🙂
