Sky: Sampdoria in negotiations with Milan over signing of Castillejo

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and Sampdoria are in talks over a deal for winger Samu Castillejo that could be completed in the last week of January, it has been confirmed.

According to reports from Manuele Baiocchini live on Sky (via MilanNews), Sampdoria are negotiating with Milan to get to Castillejo before the month is over. Marco Giampaolo has just returned to be their head coach for a second time, and he is an admirer of the Spaniard.

Giampaolo worked with Castillejo in his brief 111-day stint as the head coach at Milan, where he made the decision to deploy him as a second striker.

Castillejo was left out of the squad entirely in the last league match against Juventus on Sunday night because he is not part of the Rossoneri’s project moving forward, with Stefano Pioli clearly happy to choose between his two current options Alexis Saelemaekers and Junior Messias.
