Sassuolo CEO says he has not spoken to Milan about Frattesi and reaffirms €40m price tag

Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has spoken about the interest in Davide Frattesi from AC Milan and the price it will take to secure the Italian midfielder.

Speaking during an interview with Radio Rai (via Milan Eye), the CEO explained that there has not actually been any contact between him and AC Milan for Frattesi so far.

As well as that, he explained that they are more than willing to listen to offers and he thinks that speed will be rewarded, suggesting Milan may need to act fast to get Frattesi into the team.

“Personally I have never met Milan [for Frattesi] but if other teams come to discuss with us we are ready to listen to them. I think who arrives first have more chances to close the deal. Our request remains €40M,” Carnevali said.

Milan have got the economic capacity to make the deal happen very quickly now that they are selling Sandro Tonali to Newcastle, but there are reservations about paying a €40 million fee for Frattesi.

The Rossoneri could try and barter Sassuolo down to a lower price, or they may include either Daniel Maldini or Lorenzo Colombo in the deal.

  1. Why would ACM ask for Frattesi????
Guys Gerry is serious: No budget for those kind of players,:we go by algorithm and all that bullsh..
(Going by algorithm but signing Maldini’s option for the midfield)

  2. No but seriously. Whats so special about Frattesi? Koopmeiners is 2 times the player Frattesi is.. When it comes to mcs in italy Frattesi doesnt even make top 10.. 40M€? 2 years ago kid was playing in serie b

      1. Whats so special about Frattesi?
Veratti aged 20 was a talent, half of eu wanted him, he went to P$$$G for 12M€.
Bennacer was an emerging player, he had a great african cup and was named best player there. Went to Milan for 17M€.
Notice how 12M+17M is not 40M

        1. You’ll see when Barella and him play together next year. He is a great player whatever people here say. If he was joining Milan most of you wouldn’t talk bad about him 😀

          1. wow thx for the insight.. yeah that cleared everything up right away..
Milan should pay 50M€ for him right now…
            Did i say 50? pfff 70M€

          2. Dude, you’re on a Milan fan website reading comments. What do you think, I’ll post a scout analysis of Frattesi because you don’t know how to Google? 😂😂😂😂😂

Your sarcasm is under 70IQ, grow up, read a book. Try better, you can’t do anything with that.

Milan didn’t think twice selling Tonali but with every incoming transfer there are “reservations” and doubts that last for months and then they realize the mercato is over already. And they didn’t even get to the haggling part yet.

  4. To be fair, if we’ve not made any sort of contact then it might well just be the media making up the entire story because there’s nothing out there. It is possible that Frattesi has never been considered, though sounds unlikely.

  5. Milan needs to go and buy Amrabat. And add SMS and Kamada. That is a proper team. I would skip Frattesi even though he is a good player, runs a lot, scores goals. I mean his idol is Barella, and Barella’s is Stankovic.

    1. Wow sounds great indeed!
      How they don’t think about
Amrabat? This guy will be our anchor
And when Bennacer will come back, he can replace Kamada in the games when we need more power in the middle

      1. That guy Reindeer or whatever his name is shouldn’t even be considered while Amrabat is still at Fiorentina. Same goes for a few more linked players. I thought these guys are football professionals and the targets are…

      2. Btw remember this is only the midfield, 3 players needed. You need to add 1 RW and 1 LW probably. Someone needs to cover at LB for Hernandez, it is insulting how much he had to play since he came to Milan because he had no replacement. With that money what I wrote is just a fantasy unfortunately.

  6. First Frattesi is NOT worth 40M lol. PASS for that price.

Second we aren’t spending 40M for ANY player

Third – we have been told over and over (although it’s a fkn LIE) that we have no $ until we sold players. Ok so we sell Tonali and make 70M and now we still cannot buy??? LOL. I don’t want Frattesi at that price BUT we now have money (we always had $$ from UCL but just won’t spend it) from Tonali sale – and it’s still a problem??

    LOLOLOLO. What a fkn disgrace.

I urge all of you Redbid supporters to google an interview he did a few years back in 2020 wherein he describes his vision for owning a club – PURE PROFIT

“Cardinale gave an interview in 2020 at the Leaders in Sports Summit in Abu Dhabi. Within that interview, he talked about how RedBird had “gone deep” researching on investing in European football, by studying it for all of two years. He felt that he could create a multi-league, multi-club training academy system by purchasing clubs that would not be top clubs, but rather finish maybe sixth through 11th in their respective leagues, never in danger of relegation, but always creating a steady cashflow, so he could then pump the fans for cash, like he has done in the United States. He felt like that would be good for the “ecosystem” of football. (He also specifically referenced fans as “captive audiences” in stadiums for “multi-hour periods” to be “monetized.”)

    1. Imagine you have a lot of money, you’re a football fans, but then you bought a Historical Cricket Team. You dont know anything about cricket, so you can only thing that this team that i bought should become my cashcow, dont care about the result, the fans, the history, the cricket itself. That’s what Cardinale looks like.

    2. They can’t make a profit unless the team is successful. They have to invest and push for titles for their project to work. They’re not going to blow most of the budget on one player after what happened last summer. As others said, Amrabat is a better option and will be much cheaper.

  8. Maybe Gary must ask ChatGPT how to manage and predict which player is the best according to system and under budget area

      1. Managing and predicting the best soccer player according to a specific system and within a budget can be achieved through a combination of research, statistical analysis, and scouting. Here are some steps to help you identify the right player for your team:

Define your requirements: Determine the specific position, skills, and attributes you need in a player to fit your team’s system and style of play.

Set a budget: Establish a clear budget for the player acquisition, keeping in mind transfer fees, wages, and other potential costs.

Scout players: Use various sources such as online databases, scouting networks, and match analysis tools to identify potential players that fit your criteria.

Analyze player statistics: Evaluate the performance metrics of the shortlisted players, such as goals scored, assists, pass completion rate, tackles, and interceptions. Compare these stats with other players in the same position to gauge their relative strengths and weaknesses.

Consider age and potential: Younger players with high potential may be more cost-effective in the long run, as they can develop into top talents and increase in value over time. Factor in the player’s age and current performance level to assess their potential for growth.

Check injury history: A player with a history of injuries may not be a wise investment, as they could spend significant time on the sidelines or struggle to regain their previous form. Research the player’s injury history to ensure they are a reliable option.

Evaluate adaptability: Assess the player’s ability to adapt to a new league, country, or playing style. Consider factors such as language, cultural differences, and previous experiences playing in different environments.

Watch live games and game footage: Observing the player in action will provide valuable insights into their playing style, decision-making, and overall performance. Look for consistency and how well they perform under pressure.

Gather opinions from experts: Consult with scouts, coaches, and other experts in the field to get their opinions on the shortlisted players. They may provide valuable insights and recommendations based on their experience and knowledge.

Negotiate and finalize the deal: Once you have identified the best player for your team, negotiate with their current club and agent to reach a mutually beneficial agreement. Keep in mind that the final decision may also depend on factors such as the player’s willingness to join your team and the competition from other clubs.

By following these steps and using a data-driven approach, you can effectively manage and predict which soccer player is the best fit for your team while staying within budget constraints.

          1. AC Milan has always been an ambitious club, and the summer of 2023 will be no exception. Here are some top players they should consider targeting to strengthen their squad:

Erling Haaland (Forward, Borussia Dortmund): One of the most prolific strikers in European football, Haaland’s goal-scoring capabilities would make him a valuable addition to AC Milan’s attack.

Federico Chiesa (Winger, Juventus): A versatile and talented winger, Chiesa has the ability to create chances and score goals. He could provide a real attacking threat down the flanks for AC Milan.

Aurelien Tchouameni (Midfielder, AS Monaco): A young, dynamic central midfielder, Tchouameni has shown great potential in Ligue 1. His defensive qualities and ability to contribute offensively make him an ideal target for AC Milan’s midfield.

Jules Kounde (Defender, Sevilla): A solid and reliable center-back, Kounde could offer much-needed stability to AC Milan’s defense. His aerial prowess and ability to play out from the back would fit well with the team’s style of play.

Nuno Mendes (Left Back, Paris Saint-Germain): A highly-rated young left-back with excellent technical skills and attacking instincts, Mendes could be a long-term solution for AC Milan’s left-back position.

Ryan Gravenberch (Midfielder, Ajax): A talented and versatile midfielder, Gravenberch can play as a box-to-box or holding midfielder. His physicality, vision, and passing ability would bolster AC Milan’s midfield options.

Jonathan David (Forward, Lille): The Canadian forward has been impressive in Ligue 1, showcasing his goal-scoring prowess and ability to link up with teammates. He could provide strong competition for the attacking positions at AC Milan.

Gianluca Scamacca (Forward, Sassuolo): A young Italian forward who has shown great potential in Serie A, Scamacca could be a valuable addition to AC Milan’s attack, offering a different option with his height and physicality.

These are just a few of the many talented players that AC Milan could target in the summer of 2023. Signing any of these players would undoubtedly improve their squad and increase their chances of success in both domestic and European competitions.

  9. Okay let’s break it down. Let’s say Tonali’s deal worth 70 mil. 15% (resale clause for Brescia) 3% (training bonus for Brescia). So that leaves us with around $57.4 mil.

And we’re gonna buy Frattesi for 40 mil or 70% from Tonali’s transfer? Nah. Not gonna happen. If it really happens tho, this new management certainly hits a new kind of low.

  10. See every person knows we won’t go for such players…..our price limit is 20s m that’s it forget about 40 m something players…..frattesi is 40 m or not it’s sassuolo owner to decide just like we decided for tonali in an instant…..in the end we will buy unknown names and wish pray pioli turns them into stars of future…..I only pray we qualify for champions league spot next year….for a min all the redbird fans or anti ones just look at the current squad are we worth fighting for champions league spot or or let’s not get into title challenger thing

  11. There were reports that they will upgrade on tonali, why RLC now, 😅, isnt it as simple as replacing him with frattessi??? Being an ac milan SD is a difficult job

    1. Fratesi is a mezzala (side CM in 3-persons midfield). He is not an apple to apple replacement for Tonali who play as DM in double pivot.
