Schira: Barcelona enquire about Milan defender during talks with agent Raiola

By Oliver Fisher -

Barcelona have a concrete interest in signing Alessio Romagnoli from AC Milan this summer, according to a report.

Tuttosport (via MilanLive) reported last week that Milan could be forced to sacrifice even one or more players to actively reinvest on the incoming market and one of the players named was centre-back Alessio Romagnoli.

The former Roma and Sampdoria man has lost his starting position, has a contract that is difficult to renew and is in his prime years, but the Rossoneri will only listen to offers of over €30m.

According to the latest from Nicolo Schira on Twitter, Barcelona are looking at Milan’s captain Romagnoli to replace Samuel Umtiti, who could be sold this summer. Their president, Laporta, asked information regarding the 26-year-old centre-back during discussions with his agent Mino Raiola last week.

It comes after Fichajes reported that Barcelona are one of six possible suitors for Romagnoli if he were to leave in the upcoming window.
