Schira: Meeting set to discuss future of Milan defender as Genoa eye permanent deal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are moving towards being able to offload another defender who is surplus to requirements with Genoa pressing, a journalist has claimed.

Conti’s contract with Milan expires in 2022 and he spent part of last season on loan at Parma who chose not to use their option to buy the former Atalanta defender, which would have been an obligation if they had achieved Serie A survival.

According to the latest from journalist Nicolò Schira a meeting has already been scheduled to discuss the future of Conti as Genoa are interested in signing the 27-year-old. Talks have been underway for a few weeks already, but in the upcoming summit it could well be that a final agreement is reached.

With the sale of Diego Laxalt to Dynamo Moscow for a total of €4m set to be formalised, the Rossoneri could make another sum to put back into the transfer kitty. Schira adds that it would be a permanent deal and not another loan.
