Samu Castillejo’s time at AC Milan appears to be coming to an end and a return to his home country could be on the cards, a journalist has claimed.
It has certainly not been the easiest of times for Castillejo recently as he has struggled for form and has been largely restricted to appearances off the substitutes’ bench. This has led to speculation that his days with the Rossoneri are numbered and that an upgrade could be sought by the management in the summer.
According to Nicolo Schira, it seems as though a move back to his native Spain could very well be an option for the ex-Villarreal man. That is because Espanyol are interested in signing the 26-year-old having secured promotion back to the top flight at the first attempt.
Schira confirms that Castillejo could leave this summer amid reports that the Rossoneri are looking for an upgrade in that area, and a fee of €8m could be enough for them to sell.
