Schira: ‘The race is on’ – figures behind the Milan’s Pavlovic deal revealed

AC Milan are intent on signing Stahinja Pavlovic, and they are looking to get a deal wrapped up quickly so the Serbian defender can adjust to Milanese life and settle into Paulo Fonseca’s training.

The links between Milan and Pavlovic only arose in the past two weeks, but they have quickly come alight, and now the RB Salzburg defender is the leading candidate to join the Rossoneri’s backline. However, there have been fears about the club’s stance in the negotiations due to the Premier League interest.

Nevertheless, as quickly as things have progressed on the interest front, things seem to be going at a similar pace with negotiations, and the Diavolo have already drafted a contract with the 23-year-old, which Nicolo Schira (via Radio Rossonera) reports to be worth €1.8 million per season net.

With the agreement drafted and the player ‘keen’ on a move, the next step is to form a deal with his current club, RB Salzburg. The Austrian Bundesliga outfit are requesting €30m for their gem, but Milan are confident of a discount.

In fact, Schira has reported that a €5m discount could be in store, with the club asking for ‘no less than €25-30m’, which is very much within the Rossoneri’s budget.
