GdS: ‘Will come down’ – Milan press Salzburg for discount on ‘keen’ Pavlovic

By Ben Dixon -

Although a striker is AC Milan’s top priority, they are not putting other moves on halt, and a report has suggested that they are in a vital stage of negotiations for a new central defender, which is probably the second-highest priority.

The mercato is the biggest test for the management, and they are entering a crucial week of the window.

It has been reported that a medical has already been scheduled this week for a striker – Alvaro Morata. However, this is not the only move that could enter a crucial stage this week, as two players are entering new stages.

This morning, it was reported that Milan have made an offer for Youssouf Fofana and now are awaiting a response. The other player in question is Strahinja Pavlovic, who has already accepted terms with the club. However, a deal must be made with RB Salzburg.

Last night, suggestions were in place about the Austrian club’s valuation of the central defender, and it is believed that the two clubs are around €10 million apart, but this gap can be lessened, especially with the player seeing himself in Rossoneri colours, as Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) reports.

Pavlovic is pushing for a move, and Gazzetta states that the €30m asking price will come down, much to the delight of the Diavolo management.
