CaughtOffside: Why Milan trail Chelsea and Newcastle in the Pavlovic race

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are in the running to sign Strahinja Pavlovic from Red Bull Salzburg but they are currently behind two Premier League clubs, a report claims.

According to CaughtOffside, it is Chelsea and Newcastle United that are pushing to try and sign Pavlovic, with the Blues and the Magpies currently leading a five club chase for him.

Milan, Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also in the running as per the report, while ‘many other clubs’ have taken an interest after some stand-out performances at the European Championship.

The Rossoneri have offered the 23-year-old a salary between €1.5-2m net per season, but ‘CaughtOffside sources’ believe that Premier League clubs are willing to better this.

Furthermore, Milan consider the asking price of €30m to be ‘too high’ at this stage and their opening offer is likely to be €20m, which is substantially below. Chelsea and Newcastle will open their bidding at €25m, so Milan are behind on that front too.

However, the source goes on to mention that the player’s own preference for his next playing destination is not currently known, and while it may be the club that puts the most money on the table he could also choose the club with the best project and prospects of playing time.

    1. You guys are nuts about paying 30 million for a defender in the Austrian league lol

The will of the player is most important. If he goes elsewhere it’s because of monetary reasons

  1. If the english clubs are really involved in the story surrounding him, then there will be no waiting and lowering of the price! Let’s move on.

  2. Meanwhile Napoli signed Buongiorno. Can’t wait to hear Zlatan say again how much ambitious they are, how we should be thankful to Redsht and that Milan is thinking about the third star.

    1. Every decision is a non footballing one mate…regardless of opinion, 32m for Buongiorno is great business…why weren’t we in they conversation? Perhaps the lure of Conte was enough for him to take Napoli over CL football, which begs the Fonseca argument…I’m just eagerly awaiting the Redbird fans justify this Mercato…

  3. Of course… Buongiorno went for 35 millions, Pavlovic will go for 25 millions, while we are here not needing to sell and have “supposedly” and “reportedly” huge budget to get players that will make a difference but are still empty handed.

But hey, no biggie they say “there still time” and we just “need to be patient” right?

    1. Yeah for real, how much budget do we have literally? It looks like a riddle: If you are true management, please do not lie. What is the budget for your new guy ?

    2. The most frustrating part is that Buongiorno knows the league and he performed well in it at Torino. That’s woe h the extra money

  4. “ Furthermore, Milan consider the asking price of €30m to be ‘too high’ at this stage and their opening offer is likely to be €20m, which is substantially below. Chelsea and Newcastle will open their bidding at €25m, so Milan are behind on that front too.”

Ok so who’s NEXT on our list LOLOLOLOLO

  5. Get Fulkurg he is strong he can play the style of milan…please get him..he can shake any defender in serie a quick and eye for goal..
