Sergio Ramos is looking to find a new club in Europe to continue his illustrious career, and he has reportedly been offered to AC Milan.

Several reliable sources have reported in the past few days Ramos has decided to bring an end to his spell with Monterrey and is hoping for a big club that can boost his World Cup hopes, however slim they might be.

Fabrizio Romano also stated earlier on Monday that the Spanish centre-back is ‘100%’ open to the idea of a move to Serie A, and that he hopes to have a Luka Modric-style impact somewhere.

Ramos open to Milan move

MilanNews report that Ramos’ agents – ahead of the January transfer window – are looking around and are offering him to several clubs to try and line up his next move.

Among the teams to receive a call are Milan, who are looking for a new defender for the second half of this season. Ramos’ contract with Monterrey expires on 31 December 2025, meaning he would be a free transfer.

Calciomercato.com also write that Milan are considering the possibility of ‘signing an experienced player’ for the defensive department, hence the links with a potential return for Thiago Silva (41 years old) that emerged.

The Brazilian has a contract with Fluminense until June 2026 but is also intending to move away in January to be closer to his family, who live in London. Based on the assessments that the management and Allegri will make over the next few weeks, Ramos could be a rival candidate.

  1. We can’t become a graveyard for elephants. That’s what Saudi Arabia and Turkey are supposed to be. We can’t sign every old man who come knocking.

  2. We already have the Modric effect. Another would be redundant. I don’t think his defensive ability would really improve the unit. He has a knack for goal but I’d rather Silva if we’re going for older players. He has better positional awareness, experience in Serie A, and of course, experience with Milan. He can also score. So if we HAVE to get an old man, I’d prefer Silva.

  3. Ramos’s motivation makes me nervous about signing him. He wants to make it to the World Cup. To do that he needs playing time ( a lot of it and quickly). The team needs back up help at center back, not a replacement for Gabbia. How do those two things sync? Does Ramos become a whiny distraction if he’s not playing? Can he still defend? Because that’s what we need, not another 2024 Theo who was always up field trying to score and leaving huge holes in the defense

  4. I’d take Thiago Silva back over Sergio Ramos. But, do not go for either. We are fine with what we have for now, maybe some reinforcements – Thiago and Sergio are not that.

    1. I didn’t like what I saw from De Winter so far, he looks frozen at a times. And our only other substitution is David Odogu about whom we know nothing.

  5. For all who don’t know, we need XP’ed defender backfront. Can you see how close we were to conceding goal against Inter Merda and Lazio Merda? Magic Mike has to work overtime and “harder”. Maybe management like Modric-esque philosophy. Next: Lewan-Goal-Goal-Goal-ski.

  6. If he isn’t too expensive, I daresay he can do a job for 6 months to help get the Scudetto over the line. But what Milan really need is a reliable CF.

  7. Ramos and his ego have no place in the Milan locker room or on the field. His demands at Monterrry were to be the captain and to determine when he would play and when he would not play.
We do not need another disruptive head case in the locker room.
Thank him for his interest, but no thank you.
