As a result of their Champions League elimination, AC Milan’s visit to Bologna has been rescheduled, though it is not a drastic change.
There have been a few changes as a result of the draw at San Siro last night, not only have financial predictions probably dropped massively, but the club will also see a change in their fixture list.
However, this may be seen as a good thing for Sergio Conceicao, given he referenced his minimal time working with the squad again after the defeat – with less pressure on the squad calendar-wise, perhaps his ideas will start being shown more.
Nevertheless, the calendar has also been affected directly by Milan’s Champions League, and as Milan News relays from the Lega Serie A, there has been a chance to the fixture list.
As a result of the elimination, the Bologna game, which was originally rescheduled for Wednesday, February 26, will now be played a day later on Thursday, February 27 at 20:45 (CET). Had the team progressed, the game would have been played at an earlier time on Wednesday.
After this weekend’s game against Torino, there will be a five-day gap to the game against Bologna, then just a 72-hour turnaround before Lazio come to San Siro.
What is the purpose of this? It made more sense where they had it originally
Who here thinks feyenoord did us a favor 🖐🏻. We weren’t going to win champions league, the management objected for the last four, that means we were going to have more games meaning we had to sacrifice the league. Would you rather get knocked out at the semifinals of the ucl and finish outside of top four in the league or finish in the top four and get knocked out by feyenoord?
as if our team has any kind of control over anything at all.
A 5 day gap between Torino and Bologna and then a 3 day gap between Bologna and Lazio.
As opposed to a 4 day gap between Torino and Bologna, and then a 4 day gap between Bologna and Lazio….
HOW DOES THIS HELP MILAN!?!?! MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!!
we can check the map and calculate the distance covered for the trip, time for recover, training, etc. it just a little less hectic for a five day breather. after some tight times the last couple of weeks.
So this means Lazio will be on a Monday right? Seeing as they also play mid-week for the cup? Seems the only logical reason to move it to a Thursday
Likely It won’t be moved to Monday because Lazio have to play Europa mid-week (March 6th).
So Milan have to suck it up and only play on Sunday or whatever. Milan will get no favors from Serie A.
