AC Milan are not looking to sell Youssouf Fofana this month, and their reply to Galatasaray’s interest is a clear statement of this.
It emerged yesterday that Galatasaray were sending representatives to Italy to discuss moves for a few players, and it seemed that Fofana was one of the players that the club had in mind. However, it was quickly shut down, with the Frenchman reportedly uninterested in an exit.

In fact, with the interest in him stretching back to the summer, it was probably just an extension of that rejection. Nevertheless, the Rossoneri have now also rejected the idea effectively, even if they’ve not directly said no.
Fofana stays
Calciomercato.com writes that the club have replied with an official valuation of €40 million. This sticks to the trend of every player being sellable for the right price. Of course, he arrived for €20m last summer, so this would be a significant profit.
The reasoning for these demands are simple. In the view of the management and, more importantly, Massimiliano Allegri, Fofana is deemed central to the project. So, it would take a substantial fee for him to be sold.
Everyone is convinced that he can do better in the second part of this season, and the feeling is that he will.

Anyone who thinks Ricci or Jashari have played better either doesn’t watch the games or just doesn’t understand what they are watching. I’m afraid you fall under the latter.

3 assists so far this season. Tonali has 4. Tonali was another player criticised by many, when he left those same people wanted him back. Fofana is excellent at carrying the ball forward and his weight of pass is tremendous. People need to stop focusing on his shooting, yes, it’s poor, but there’s a reason he keeps getting picked.
You’ve just proven my point tonali is better and a 41 year old modric is better than any midfielder milan actually have. Tonali 7G and 8A in his time at Newcastle and he’s a DM and fofana has 2G and 12A and to add Tonali wasn’t allowed to play for most of his first season so pretty much they have had the same amount of time at the respective clubs
I didn’t prove your point, I proved mine. Despite his flaws, Fofana is more important to Milan than either Jashiri or Ricci. They have been hugely disappointing, Fofana hasn’t. Fofana has done more or less what he did last season – he carries the ball out of midfield, which eases pressure and he lays it off to others. It’s those two who have been hugely disappointing, not Fofana.
Okay number 1, jashari has been out injured if you’ve been aware so you can’t even compare that. Secondly ricci has the same stats, 3 less yellow cards with 4 full games less and the only reason is because he’s Italian and this management don’t like Italians. I’ll give u some extended stats. Ricci has better Goal involvements per 90 mins, expected goals(xg) slightly, better shot conversion rate and shot accuracy.
Beats fofana in expected assists, better in successful passes, pass completion rate, successful crosses.
Fofana has 19 to 4 dribbles compared to ricci but fofana had successfully done 4 while ricci has 2 in 4 less games, ricci has been dispossessed 5 times while fofana has been 12.

Fofana better in terms of tackles, ground and Aeriel duals of course but ricci has blocked more shots, 15 more clearances and only been dribbled past 2 times compared to 8 times with fofana. I rest my case

The thing with Jashari is that there just appears to be no reason for his long protracted signing.

Fofana is such a wildcard. One minute he’s driving the ball from box to box and looking damn solid while meandering through opposing players, next minute he just can’t seem to be able to keep the ball..
Or, he lays a spectacular pass with a deft touch, next, he acts like the ball is lava.
You never know which Fofana you’re getting.
Yeah, he also has a weird build so he just looks weird and clumsy on the pitch. If we get $40Mil for Fofana, it should be an easy sell!

The owners are businessmen. Their ultimate aim is to sell the club for a massive profit. They can only do that by making the team successful on the pitch and building a new stadium. How many businesses have you sold for millions? That’s right, none.
Under RedBird, Milan are the biggest spending club in Serie A. They are also profitable, the clubs accounts are, finally, healthy. That is not something to be critical of, it means they comply with UEFA’s regulations. It also makes them attractive to investors, it also makes it easier to secure loans for the building of the new stadium.
galatasaray refuse to pay 35m for frattesi. so it is almost impossible for them to start negotiation at 40m for fofana.
