AC Milan will not be signing Junior Firpo this month as negotiations with Barcelona have collapsed, according to one journalist.
There has been an abundance of speculation that Milan could look for a new left-back – as we reported – allowing loanee Diogo Dalot to be Davide Calabria’s new back-up and the new recruit being the deputy to Theo Hernandez, and it seemed as though Junior Firpo is the primary target.
Outlets in both Italy and Spain suggested that talks were very much on with Barca over a deal and with the entourage of Firpo, among whom there is agent Sufiel Abdelkader, the father of Brahim Diaz.
According to Matteo Moretto of Sky Italia on Twitter, Firpo to Milan will not happen. There has been a complete collapse in negotiations between Milan and Barcelona.
It appears as though the Rossoneri will have to look elsewhere for a left-back, with updates on the situation expected.
