Sky: Big blow for Milan as West Ham table €36m bid for dream defensive target

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s chances of signing Wesley Fofana from Saint-Etienne have suffered a blow as West Ham have made a big offer, a report claims.

The Rossoneri are desperate to sign a new centre-back as soon as possible given that Simon Kjaer and Matteo Gabbia are the only two options at present. Alessio Romagnoli and Mateo Musacchio are injured, while Leo Duarte is isolating after testing positive for Coronavirus.

One player continuously linked over the past few weeks has been Wesley Fofana, and Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com claimed the 19-year-old is Milan’s dream signing for the defence.

However, as reported by Sky Sports News, Leicester are currently in negotiations with the French side over the promsing centre-back. The competition is far from easy, in other words, and it remains to be seen if Milan will make an attempt.

Now, Sky reported  Kaveh Solhekol is reporting that West Ham have put an offer of €25m plus €11m in bonuses on the table, a bid which Milan seem unable to match and one that surpasses Leicester’s too.
