Sky journalist believes Milan are ‘more of a team’ than Inter but that will not decide the derby

By Oliver Fisher -

Sky Italia journalist Stefano De Grandis has claimed that AC Milan are more of a team than Inter heading into Saturday’s Derby della Madonnina.

Milan will meet Inter for the 226th time in official fixtures looking to open up a bit of an early-season gap between themselves and their city rivals as the Rossoneri are currently two points ahead in the standings.

They will have to do it without the influence of a number of players as things stand, with Matteo Gabbia and Leo Duarte currently COVID-19 positive while Ante Rebic has not yet recovered from his dislocated elbow and Mateo Musacchio is also still out.

Conte meanwhile will be without a number of players in midfield and defender as Radja Nainggolan, Milan Skriniar, Roberto Gagliardini, Alessandro Bastoni, Andrei Radu and Ashley Young have tested positive for Coronavirus.

Speaking to Sky, De Grandis discussed Saturday’s showcase game at San Siro, revealing his belief that Milan are a better unit at the moment.

“In the league it is likely that Inter will finish above and are more structured to win, but I see as Milan more of a team,” he said (via MilanNews).

“But this does not mean that Milan will win, at the moment they are more of a team. From now to the 38th round, Inter’s technical depth is stronger.

“Physicality counts a lot, Milan also has agility with Calhanoglu, Bennacer or Saelemaekers.”
