Sky journalist claims Milan’s squad is worth over €87m more than at the start of the season

One of the positives to emerge from this season for AC Milan has been the growth of key players, and this is reflected by the team’s market value.

Speaking with an editorial on TMW, Sky journalist Luca Marchetti spoke about the growth of squad values among Serie A side, confirming that Milan are second place in the league when it comes to the overall increase.

Marchetti states that the market value of the Milan squad is up 23.9% based on the start of the season, which is slightly lower than Atalanta. The absolute value of the increase is higher – €87.1m to be exact – but the percentage is higher for Atalanta because clearly the starting base value was higher and therefore in percentage value it affects less.

Despite the contract deadlines such as Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu which clearly negatively affects players’ valuations, the extraordinary season that Milan are having means they are worth considerably more, especially given it is a group made up mostly of young players.

  1. Gianluigi Donnarumma should accept, but in my opinion the conditions that suit the club are 8 million per season and a five-year contract with a clause of 120 million if someone wants to buy him. AC, AC Milan must show Mina Raioli who is the chief negotiator, especially if we know that Donnarumma will sign any contract for AC.Milan.
