AC Milan are unlikely to sack Stefano Pioli regardless of whether the team achieve a top four finish, according to a report.

SportMediaset (via MilanLive) reported earlier today that Pioli would be at risk if the team did drop into the Europa League especially after a difficult 2021. The likes of Max Allegri, Maurizio Sarri and Luciano Spalletti are all available and Sarri is one of the more interesting names for the Rossoneri. They added that the name of Paulo Fonseca is also one that cannot be excluded, while Andriy Shevchenko as a possible candidate too.
According to what Peppe Di Stefano has told Sky Italia (via MilanNews), Pioli’s future is not linked to the Champions League. It is true that Milan have targets and not reaching the Champions League would be a great disappointment, but sacking Pioli is not seen as an option given his work over the past 18 months.
He has raised the value of the Milan squad and restored credibility to the Rossoneri after some negative years, and Di Stefano adds that directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara want to start again next season with Pioli, barring sensational surprises.
