Sky: Milan enquire about Sassuolo veteran and Roma goalkeeper – the situation

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have made an enquiry for Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli as they seek a new back-up for Gianluigi Donnarumma, it is claimed.

The Rossoneri are in the market for a new deputy to Donnarumma after Pepe Reina left for Lazio, Asmir Begovic returned to Bournemouth and Alessandro Plizzari was loaned out to Reggina.

According to Manuele Baiocchini of Sky Italia (via MilanNews), the Milan management are indeed looking to replace Reina and head coach Stefano Pioli would be happy to see Begovic come back.

However, the Bosnia international currently has a salary of €2million net per season, so if Milan were not able to convince him to lower his salary, they would look at other profiles.

Milan did ask for information on Antonio Mirante, receiving a no from Roma, but also did a poll for Consigli of Sassuolo. The last few days of the transfer market could heat up in this regard.
