Sky: Milan ‘evaluating other profiles’ as Chelsea refuse to budge on Giroud

Olivier Giroud has been heavily linked with Milan in the last few weeks, despite the recent renewal with Chelsea. However, it seems the Rossoneri are currently looking elsewhere as a result of the English side’s stance.

Milan are well aware that Zlatan Ibrahimovic won’t be able to play every game next season, which he will only just recover in time for after his surgery. Therefore, they are looking for at least one striker on the market.

Speaking live on Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, journalist Manuele Baiocchini provided an update on Milan’s market quest and above all on their interest in Giroud. He explained why there have been little progress lately.

“Giroud on a free? There are currently no major openings from Chelsea and Milan are evaluating other profiles. Then, if the agents manage to free him from Chelsea, Milan would take a step forward to sign him,” he stated.

It remains to be seen if the Rossoneri will be able to close the deal for the Frenchman, but we can expect that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have a few alternatives. Before the season starts, a striker will for sure arrive.
