Sky: Milan ‘evaluating other profiles’ as Chelsea refuse to budge on Giroud

By Isak Möller -

Olivier Giroud has been heavily linked with Milan in the last few weeks, despite the recent renewal with Chelsea. However, it seems the Rossoneri are currently looking elsewhere as a result of the English side’s stance.

Milan are well aware that Zlatan Ibrahimovic won’t be able to play every game next season, which he will only just recover in time for after his surgery. Therefore, they are looking for at least one striker on the market.

Speaking live on Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, journalist Manuele Baiocchini provided an update on Milan’s market quest and above all on their interest in Giroud. He explained why there have been little progress lately.

“Giroud on a free? There are currently no major openings from Chelsea and Milan are evaluating other profiles. Then, if the agents manage to free him from Chelsea, Milan would take a step forward to sign him,” he stated.

It remains to be seen if the Rossoneri will be able to close the deal for the Frenchman, but we can expect that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have a few alternatives. Before the season starts, a striker will for sure arrive.

  1. LOLOLO. What a joke. Wasted all this time for nothing. Do you think Marina at Chelsea will just give away an asset for free?? She is an excellent negotiator. How naive to think we could get him for nothing. That is the whole reason Chelsea picked up his option in April to avoid losing him for nothing, you know unlike us with Donnaruma or potentially Hakan lol. And pls I don’t want to hear about Valhovic – we aren’t spending 60-70M on ANY player – he’ll 23M for a starting RW (Ikone) is considered “excessive” apparently lol. What a joke. Sell the club Elliot.

  2. Elliot ruining the club. Didn’t sign belotti, wasted time trying to sign giroud. Might lose tonali, ikone and berardi too expensive. Seems like we’re placing our hopes and dreams in a second division french player adli… great.

  3. You all saying Elliott ruining this club really have a short memory. Remember Milan before Elliot take control please, not the Milan in our glory days.

Dynasty needs time and effort to be built. In the current conditions not everyone could spend extravagant money. We have spent 40+ millions already, just be patient.

    1. Elliot is about profits. Milan will remain at this level forever as long as they’re here. Mark my words. Plus we aren’t even an Italian team anymore and have lost our history now, it’s gross, and it’s Elliot.
