Sky: Milan not giving up on €40m Torino star – new attempt planned this week

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are not giving up on their pursuit of Alessandro Buongiorno, and they are reportedly planning to potentially use a counterpart to lower the cash sum required.

According to what is being reported by Sky, the Rossoneri are ready to make a new attempt this week to sign Buongiorno, because they still want another defender despite the arrivals of Matteo Gabbia and Filippo Terracciano.

Milan seem intent on investing further in the defence, attempting a big coup in January by signing Torino’s captain. He is at the top of their wish list and after Urbano Cairo’s initial refusal, the management have not given up and will try again in the coming days.

Cairo’s valuation of the Italy international is around €40m but Milan could try to lower the demands of the Granata by inserting Lorenzo Colombo into the negotiation, who is currently on loan at Monza but does not have a starting spot.

In any case, the operation remains very complicated and it should also be remembered that Buongiorno himself refused a move to Atalanta in the summer because he wanted to stay with Torino.

Nonetheless, Geoffrey Moncada and co. seem determined to give it another go because they see the 24-year-old – who is left-footed too – as a potential option for the present and future.

  1. Yes, I wouldn’t mind them spending on an AM. I like RLC,
but he’s not equipped to be in that role, or at least, we can
    do better.

    1. I think the ‘better’ would be Bennacer. And they’re very different players. I like RLC’s contribution and work rate for the team, no complaints. We’re not going to buy an AM who performs miracles in a system that very few have flourished in this winter.

  2. it’s easy task for transfer division of new management, just do like when Galliani get Z/ Leo get Kaka/ Maldini get Z,Theo&Kjaer
