AC Milan still have an interest in signing Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer this summer but face competition from England, a report claims.
In the summer a revolution of the defensive department is expected, with the Rossoneri in particular looking for a new long-term partner for captain Alessio Romagnoli despite the signing of Simon Kjaer from Sevilla.
Ajer is among the names who has been repeatedly linked with a move to Milan as the 22-year-old has captured the attention of some top European clubs thanks to a fantastic season with the Scottish champions.
According to Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan remain interested in signing the Norway international, but they face competition in the form of Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City.
Rodgers of course coached Ajer at Celtic before he moved south of the border, and Di Marzio adds that he is ready to sanction an opening bid in the hopes of reuniting with his former defender.
