Sky: Milan in talks with entourage of RB Salzburg star – the strategy

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are working on various fronts at the moment to strengthen the squad and they are in talks with the agents of Strahinja Pavlovic, according to a report.

Milan conceded 49 goals in the league last season and 69 goals across all competitions, which has led to a rather predictable inquest into the defensive department. Naturally, there have been calls to intervene with the signing of a new centre-back.

According to Sky, Milan have a concrete interest in signing Pavlovic from RB Salzburg. There are ongoing contacts with the player’s entourage to try and first reach a verbal agreement over personal terms and then the management will negotiate with the Austrian club.

A compatriot of Luka Jovic, Pavlovic was at the European Championships in Germany with Serbia but his national team’s adventure ended in the group stage with last place in Group C behind England, Denmark and Slovenia.

Last season he was one of the most important players for Red Bull Salzburg, making 37 appearances across all competitions and amassing four goals plus three assists in the Austria Bundesliga, the cup and the Champions League.

The 23-year-old is an aerial monster who has been regularly compared to Nemanja Vidic while the feeling is that he could be the perfect partner for Tomori, especially considering he is left-footed.

  1. Now that’s a Good one let’s sell out tomori immediately because Pavlovic is far better than him in that left centre back

  2. Well, he definitely looks the part. But honestly it’s seems like quite a gamble. We need someone to be the clear choice starter CB, not someone that should compete with Gabbia
