Sky: Milan’s XI for Roma trip – Possible unchanged team; three position battles

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli is leaning towards naming an unchanged starting XI for Sunday’s trip to Roma, a report claims.

The Rossoneri were impressive in the first 45 minutes of Pioli’s debut as head coach, heading into the second-half against Lecce with a one-goal lead before eventually succumbing to a 92nd minute equaliser.

According to Sky Italia journalist Manuele Baiocchini (via MilanNews.it), Pioli could field that same starting line-up that took the field at San Siro against Lecce.

He adds that the battles are currently between Ante Rebic and Calhanoglu, Lucas Biglia and Ismael Bennacer plus Krzysztof Piatek and Rafael Leao.

No mention is made of the right-back situation though, where many outlets are predicting that Davide Calabria will come in for Andrea Conti after completing his suspension.

AC Milan (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Conti/Calabria, Musacchio, Romagnoli, Hernandez; Paqueta, Biglia (Bennacer), Kessie; Suso, Leao (Piatek), Calhanoglu (Rebic).
