SM: Milan continue probing free transfer market – Leicester and Roma duo targeted

AC Milan have seemingly already wrapped up two free transfers ahead of the summer window, and they are not stopping there with two more probed.

It seems as though Marco Sportiello and Daichi Kamada will be Milan’s first two signings of the summer, joining from Atalanta and Eintracht Frankfurt respectively when their contracts expire at the end of the month.

However, according to what our colleagues at SempreMilan.it have learned, Milan are continuing to probe the upcoming free agent market in a bid to secure reinforcements for the squad with minimal outlay.

Return of Il Faraone?

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have enquired about the potential return of Stephan El Shaarawy, who was with the Rossoneri from 2011 to 2015 and has played with Monaco and Roma since.

They learned that the 30-year-old winger – who could be a deputy to Rafael Leao – has given priority to Roma, but would be thrilled to be able to play for Milan again.

Cover for Bennacer

In the last few hours however, another suggestion has come forward in Youri Tielemans. Leicester have officially ended negotiations over the renewal of the Belgian midfielder having been relegated to the Championship.

Having amassed 4 goals and 2 assists in the 37 games played this season, Tielemans is a versatile midfielder capable of playing in all midfield roles, meaning he could be perfect cover for Ismael Bennacer who will be out until December.

Tielemans receives a salary of €3m net per season at Leicester, a figure that Milan could easily match or perhaps even raise, but there are several clubs interested in signing the 26-year-old which could drive his demands up.
