SM: Milan expect signing to have medical next week – the leading candidate

AC Milan are expecting to welcome a player for a medical on either Tuesday or Wednesday of next week, we have learned, and there is a leading candidate for who it could be.

According to our colleagues at SempreMilan.it, there seems to be no doubt about who will be the next Milan striker: Alvaro Morata. The Spaniard must play in the European Championship final with Spain and then he will be free to join Paulo Fonseca’s side.

According to Orazio Accomando of DAZN, in the last few hours Zlatan Ibrahimovic has reportedly received the player’s approval and reached an agreement on his salary, which should be around €4.5m net per season.

The Swede himself worked personally for the arrival of Morata, which will be made official at the end of Euro 2024. Milan will only have to pay €13m as a transfer fee, equal to the release clause in his contract with Atletico Madrid.

According to what our team has learned, Milan are in a hurry to make Morata official as soon as possible and – although the Spaniard will still be granted a period of vacation – he will first come to Milan to undergo medical tests and sign a contract.

The date in question should be in the middle of next week (between Tuesday and Thursday). Morata scored 21 goals and assisted an additional five for Atletico Madrid this past season, the best goal return of his career, and it showcased his importance once again.
