Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are keen on renewing Rafael Leao’s contract ahead of the World Cup and negotiations are currently ongoing. An official renewal offer could be tables very soon, we have learned.
The winger has continued his great form this season, currently on four goals and eight assists, and it’s not exactly surprising that big teams are keeping tabs on him. Milan, as such, are keen on renewing the contract as soon as possible.
As learned by our colleagues at SempreMilan.it, Maldini and Massara could meet with Jorge Mendes in the coming 48 hours. Between Tuesday and Wednesday, in fact, the official offer should be tabled by Milan.
The offer will most likely be worth €5m per season, which is a significant pay rise from the current €1.8m. Furthermore, Milan are willing to pay a part of the €19m fine that Leao owes Sporting, which could help get the deal over the line.
