SM: Why Pioli reacted as he did after full-time in Milan vs. PSG

Stefano Pioli wanted to be left alone when the full-time whistle was blown at San Siro last night. This is something that the AC Milan fans noticed and discussed on social media, but there is no controversy involved whatsoever.

Earlier today, we published a piece about Pioli’s reaction at full-time, telling his staff members to ‘leave me alone’ when they wanted to embrace him. An unusual reaction, perhaps, but it had nothing to do with the staff members and Pioli’s relationships with them.

As we have learned, the manager was naturally experiencing a lot of tension before and during the game, which he then let go of when the full-time whistle was blown. The reaction towards his colleagues, therefore, was nothing personal and strictly related to the release of adrenaline after a tough period.

Therefore, Pioli made it clear that he wanted to experience the moment alone. Once he returned to the locker room, and the tension had disappeared fully, he hugged his colleagues and celebrated the victory with the rest of the team.

In short, Pioli was not upset with his staff members even though it may have looked strange without any context.
