TMW: Spezia want to secure €16-20m defender before World Cup as Milan keep pressing

By Oliver Fisher -

Spezia have been forced into action as AC Milan continue to express an interest in signing Jakub Kiwior, according to a report.

Milan have been heavily linked with a move for Kiwior over the last few weeks by various sources, and TMW report that Spezia are at work to try and resolve his long-term future before the World Cup, or at least strengthen their negotiating position.

The Polish defender currently earns around €250,000 net per season and could soon extend his deal to a figure more fitting of his importance, knowing that a good showing in Qatar with Poland could lead the 22-year-old to a big move.

The report adds that Milan are keen on him and there is a current valuation between €16-20m, and for this reason Spezia would like to insert a very high release clause to avoid losing him for a figure below his true value. Talks between the parties have been going on for a few days and there could be news soon.
