Spokesperson: Elliott have invested over €600m into Milan and are committed to €1.2bn project

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s owners Elliott Management have already invested a huge amount into the club financially to help the ‘relaunch’, a spokesperson has claimed.

On Friday, TV network Rai announced that they will be launching a programme on Monday investigating Milan’s ownership situation, alleging that Elliott Management are not in control.

However, they postponed the episode for reasons not yet disclosed, but they are supposedly aiming for next Monday’s episode now.

Calcio & Finanza reported last night though that an official statement has arrived from a spokesman for the American fund Elliott, who is keen to clarify immediately the position of Elliott by confirming they hold control of 96% of the club’s shares.

In addition to that, the spokesperson offered comment on the amount that Elliott have already invested into the club and how they are willing to invest even more.

“Elliott has financed the relaunch of Milan in recent years, with over 600 million euros invested in the club,” they said (via MilanNews).

“Elliott has also committed to participate in a private investment of 1.2 billion euros for the construction of a new state-of-the-art stadium for the city of Milan and an innovative multifunctional district, which together will contribute to the continuous transformation of Milan, offering only an iconic reference point for the city but also a project of excellence for Italian football.”
